Are You New?

Welcome to the Overland Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America!

First off, we would like to say thank you.  Thank you for your willingness to try out our great organization and all the fantastic benefits it has to offer your boy as he grows.  Scouting is about character development and having confidence in yourself to Be Prepared!

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is the largest youth organization in the U.S. with nearly 3 million youth members and 1.1 million registered adult leaders.  These members make up the 122,582 local Scout units.

Our program is a family program.  One that we hope will become part of your family and you will come to enjoy Scouting just as much as your boy.

This page is designed to help you become familiar with Scouting and hopefully answer some questions you may have.

Stay Informed!

Scouting is active in so many ways!  There are numerous programs and activities for your son to participate in.

When you join your unit, make sure you get all the contact information you will need and also make sure you provide the means in which you wish to be contacted.  This includes email, home phone, cell phone and even Facebook!

Overland Trails Council works very hard to make sure we keep our families informed.  Here are some of the ways:

  • This website!  This website is a big part of our communication.  Through it you can receive emails, register for events and trainings, and read about the latest goings on with Scouting in our area.
  • Facebook:  www.fb.com/overlandtrailscouncilExternal Link

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I have more questions.  Who can I talk to?

Our first recommendation is that you talk to your den leader and/or cubmaster.  They have a lot of resources and knowledge about Scouting in your pack and may be able to help you.

If you still have questions, you are encouraged to cntact us.
