New District Chair Announced
The Boy Scouts of America Overland Trails Council has named Scott Kleeb, Chief Executive Officer of Energy Pioneer Solutions, as its Pony Express District Chairman. The Pony Express District serves the counties of Adams, Clay, Nuckolls, Webster, Franklin, and Kearney while serving over 500 youth in 33 Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout Troops and Venturing Crew.
The District Chairman is the top volunteer role in a district and is selected and approved by the Council President and Executive Board. The District Chairman has the responsibility of overseeing and guiding the district in achieving goals related to the four functions of district operations: Membership, Finance, Program, and Unit Service. The District Chairman resides at the monthly district committee meeting and is also responsible for securing and presenting an annual slate of district officers and committee. The District Chairman is the strongest volunteer advocate in representing volunteers to the general community and also serves as a member of the Overland Trails Council Executive Board.
Upcoming Events
Sept 24: Scout Mobile Derby in Blue Hill. Cost is $8 per Scout, $3 per Adult. Registration can be done on-line by going to the Calendar and clickin on September 23rd Scout Fair.
October 7th: Pony Express District Fall Camporee will be held at Ft. Kearny just north of Minden. Early Bird Registration due Sept. 25. Cost is $15 per Scout, $10 perAdult.
November 12: Cub Night at the Museum. Cost is $30 per person (Scout and Adult). Cubs will earn two belt loops: Language/Culture and Weather. This is an overnight event from 7:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.
