Do you know young men and women ages 14-21 that are interested in high adventure? Boy Scouts of America offers a program dedicated to helping youth experience more than "just" the usual Scouting activities! Pony Express District is having an organizational meeting on Sunday, February 21, 2010 in Blue Hill. For more information, contact John Schwab at 402-756-3095. This meeting is open to all youth - you don't have to live in Blue Hill to join.
Young adults involved in Venturing will
Learn to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling the values in the Venturing Oath and Code
- Experience a program that is fun and full of challenge and adventure
- Become a skilled, training and program resource for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and other groups
- Acquire skills in the areas of high adventure, sports, arts and hobbies, youth ministries, or Sea Scouting
- Experience positive leadership from adult and youth leaders and be given opportunities to take on leadership roles
- Have a chance to learn and grow in a supportive, caring, and fun environment

Feb 27 Cubmaster training, Sat. March 27 Cubmaster training, Sat. April 3 BALOO training (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation for Pack leaders), Sat. May 22 Cubmaster training. Roundtables are held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 1st St Paul's Youth Center in Hastings at 7:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Roundtables are generally geared toward Leaders with a training/info session. This is a great time to meet other Leaders and get ideas or help with a problem.
February Roundtable will feature Ranger Ed Wiles from Camp Augustine. Ranger Ed will be promoting 2010 Camps - Fun With Son (1st grade fall of 2010), Cub Resident (2nd & 3rd grade fall of 2010), Webelos (4th and 5th grade fall of 2010), Boy Scout Camp and Family Camp.
