Join Scouting

Be a part of the fun and adventure! Scouting provides an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.

The Overland Trails Council serves over 290 Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venturing Crews and Explorer Posts throughout the state of Vermont and provides the Scouting Program to youth ages 6 through 20. Registration is a simple process and is determined by age or school grade.

  • Cub Scouts - boys grades 1st-5th
  • Boy Scouts - boys grades 6th-12th 
  • Varsity Scouts - boys ages 14 - 18
  • Venturing - young men and women ages 13 - 21
  • Exploring - young men and women ages 14-21

Attend a Join Scouting Event

Join Scouting events are a great way for you to meet the leaders of Cub Scout Packs and Boy Scouts Troops serving your area and to learn about what Scouting can offer. Scout units typically host recruitment events at your local school, church, or civic center in the fall and in the spring.

The best and quickest way to find a Join Scouting night in your community and to ask questions is to contact the Overland Trails Council Scout Office at 308.382.3717. The Overland Trails Council covers 44 counties in Central and Western Nebraska

Summer Day Camp Flyer 

If your son joins Cub Scouts between March 1st and May 31st they will be able to attend one of three Cub Scout Summer Day Camps offered by the Overland Trails Council.  Registration information can be found at Link then click on Day Camp.
