Family Friends of Scouting
Providing our youth with the best possible Scouting experience requires a significant financial investment. The Family Friends of Scouting (FOS) campaign lets families support the program that benefits their sons and secures the funds necessary to assure the future of Scouting.
The financial support of the units and communities through FOS provide many benefits and services to your unit. Examples include, but aren't limited to: leader training, liability insurance, program helps, camping facilities and programs, and council and district activities.
As you plan your program for the coming year, please include a Family FOS presentation in your unit’s calendar. We recommend that the presentation take place during January, February or March. Ideal settings for the presentation would be the Blue and Gold Banquet or a Troop Court of Honor. A district Scouter will come to your unit’s meeting and make the presentation. A typical presentation only takes 10-12 minutes.

To Qualify for Gold Star Status
Unit much achieve its Family Friends of Scouting goal. The goal is $50 per registered Scout as of June 30, 2017. The benefits will be in place once the unit qualifies, and will last until the 2019 Family FOS presentation or until March 31, 2019, whichever comes earlier. To achieve the popcorn incentive, you must qualify by June 15, 2018.
