Historic Merit Badge Program
AS OF JULY 9, 2010 THE HISTORIC MERIT BADGE PROGRAM IS FULL
To celebrate the BSA’s 100th year, four Merit Badges have been brought out of retirement. The Historic Merit Badge Program is a one time opportunity to earn the Carpentry, Pathfinding, Signaling and Tracking Merit Badges.
Three of the Historic Merit Badges will be offered as part of the 2010 Merit Badge University. Pathfinding does not lend itself to being completed at the Merit Badge University setting therefore it will not be offered. See the Historic Merit Badge Program Information Catalog for more information.
If you choose to participate in the Historic Merit Badge Program please write Historic Program on the first line of your class registration form. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE ANY OTHER MERIT BADGES.
IF YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE SIGNALING PORTION OF THE PROGRAM PLEASE STATE THIS ON YOUR REGISTRATION FORM AND SELECT AN ALTERNATE MERIT BADGE IN THE ALTERNATE MERIT BADGE SPACE PROVIDED ON THE REGISTRATION FORM.

This is not to discourage any scouts from earning this merit badge but rather to make you aware of the months of practice it will require to master these codes to the degree required by this merit badge.
