National Scout Jamboree

Council Contingent Information

 

The National Scout Jamboree is the premier event of the Boy Scouts of America.  Jamborees are held every 4 years and the next will be July 26th to August 4th at Fort A.P. Hill, in Virginia.  The 2010 Jamboree is going to extra special because of the 100th anniversary of the BSA.

Most Scouts only have one opportunity of attend a Jamboree during their scouting career and space is limited to only 36 Scouts from the Overland Trails Council.

If this is an event you want to participate in, be sure to get your application in as soon as you can.

Registration:

 

All Scouts must register through the National website at www.bsajamboree.org.  An adult will need to register a youth and a credit card will be necessary for the $10 processing fee.  Once the Scout is registered, a $100 deposit must be sent to the Overland Trails Council.

Cost: 

The estimated cost for the Jamboree, Travel and Pre-Jamboree touring of Washington D.C. is $2500.  A payment schedule will be set up.
